Island Explorer Controls
We recommend playing with a controller, but keyboard and mouse work too.
Gamepad
- Left stick
- Move your character. In menus, move between characters or items.
- A / Cross (bottom button)
- Jump, or interact with a highlighted nearby target. In menus, confirm a selection or item action.
- X / Square (left button)
- Interact with the highlighted nearby target.
- Right stick
- Look around. In item details, scroll the description.
- Press right stick
- Reset the camera view.
- D-pad up / down
- Zoom in or out. In menus, use the D-pad to move between characters or items.
- Menu / Options
- Open the character menu. Press again to close a menu or go back.
- RB / R1
- Open or close your items.
- B / Circle (right button)
- Go back or close a menu. Cancel an action while it is charging.
Keyboard & Mouse
Exploring
- W A S D or arrow keys
- Move your character.
- Space
- Jump. When a nearby target is highlighted, Space interacts with it instead.
- E
- Interact with the highlighted nearby target.
Camera
- Hold right mouse button + drag
- Look around your character.
- I J K L
- Look around using the keyboard.
- Mouse wheel
- Zoom in or out.
- F
- Reset the camera view.
Characters & Items
- Esc while exploring
- Open the character menu to choose a Trippie.
- B
- Open your items.
- W A S D or arrow keys in menus
- Move between characters or items. You can also select them with the mouse.
- Enter
- Confirm a character selection or open an item's details. In item details, confirm again to use an available item action.
- Esc in a menu
- Go back or close the menu.
